About Dreamz Journal

A mystical dream reader, built quietly, by hand.

The Veil

Dreamz Journal is a private, beautifully designed dream journal that turns your dreams into a full mystical reading — symbols, omens, and a small ritual you can actually use the next day. The promise is simple: log a dream in under a minute and walk away with something more thoughtful than a dictionary lookup. We believe dreams are the oldest oracle a person owns, and that the right place to read them is somewhere the rest of the world isn’t watching.

Who’s Behind It

Jay Tee, founder and editor of Dreamz Journal

Jay Tee

Founder & editor

Jay Tee is the pen name I write under here. I keep my real life and the dream work a few veils apart on purpose — partly because the subject matter is personal for the readers who land here, and partly because the work should stand on its own without a résumé doing the talking.

I’ve kept dream journals on and off for two decades. The honest version of my qualifications: I’ve read a lot of Jung, more Hall & Van de Castle than most people, and I’ve sat with my own falling-and-running dreams long enough to know when a symbol is doing real work. Dreamz exists because every app I tried before either treated dreams like medical symptoms or like horoscopes — and dreams aren’t either.

What We Believe About Dreams

Dreams are personal symbolic language — not predictions, not diagnoses, and not riddles with single right answers. A snake means one thing in your psyche and something else in mine, because the symbol arrives wrapped in everything we’ve already lived. The most useful dream interpretation isn’t a lookup; it’s an invitation to ask what is this part of me trying to say in the only language it has?

That’s the lens every reading on Dreamz is built around. We hedge on purpose — “may reflect,” “often suggests” — because certainty about someone else’s dream is almost always a small lie.

How Dreamz Was Built

The Dreamz iOS app shipped on April 15, 2026, after eight months of building, breaking, and rebuilding. It runs on a 5,700+ symbol dictionary that anchors every AI-generated reading to a consistent symbolic vocabulary, so logging the same dream twice doesn’t produce wildly different answers. Free users get one full reading a day; premium ($5.99/month or $49.99/year) unlocks 30 readings, dream imagery, and removes ads. Everything in the journal is private, encrypted, and never used to train a model.

Editorial Standards

Every long-form piece on this site is written by a human (me) and grounded in named sources — Jung’s Collected Works, Hall & Van de Castle’s 1966 quantitative dream research, Hartmann’s continuity hypothesis, with a few critical voices like Hobson included as counterweights. Read the full methodology for how we approach symbols and what we explicitly don’t do.
